Smak Delicatessen on Bree Street

Relish fresh made-to-order food in Cape Town

The 21st Century is an amazing time to live in as there are little to no limitations as well as a wide variety of everything - especially in the culinary sphere. No matter whether you’re gluten intolerant, or only eat greens or enjoy everything meaty, you’ll never run out of options to choose from. Eating out is now so easy! And Smak Delicatessen and Restaurant is no exception.

Located on Bree Street, Smak too has a fusion-inspired menu that caters to different palates and diets. Taking pride in serving fresh made-to-order meals using only the freshest ingredients Cape Town has to offer, Smak offers customers a seasonal menu – with firm favourites available all year round – comprising vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as so much more! And you don’t have to leave your pet behind, the restaurant is animal-friendly too.

Founded by two experienced Chefs Katia Scherf and Devin Hogan (who was a top 3 finalist on Top Chef SA 2016), the restaurant officially opened its doors on Tuesday, 2 February 2016. The atmosphere at Smak is warm and welcoming; making it is the perfect place for business meetings, lunch with friends or even a quick gourmet sarmie on the run.

We love the local and imported cold meats and cheeses with fresh breads, displayed at the Smak Deli.  Smak also offers homemade patisseries to indulge in. Yum!
Tip: Walk-ins are welcome, but it’s always wiser to make a reservation.
Note: Smak doesn’t have a liquor license yet, but customers are allowed to bring their own alcohol.
