This cute little shop offers African handmade products for your home
African arts and crafts shops can be quite overwhelming with a huge selection of everything. Ndoro is different. It is small and sweet with a well chosen selection of ceramics, clay animals, baskets, wall decorations, maps, crockery, jewellery, beautiful fabrics and more.
Ndoro is the first shop on your left as you enter the cellars and the Foodbarn Deli at the Noordhoek Farm Village. Here, you mainly get high quality arts and crafts from Zimbabwe, but also from South Africa, Ghana, Zambia and Madagascar.
It’s the window to African craftsmanship – stylish and colourful, a good shop to visit when it is time to buy presents – home décor, wedding gifts, birthday presents, Christmas presents, gifts for oneself, Valentine gifts, Mother‘s Day gifts, holiday gifts and mementos, no matter if you’re a tourist or local.
The prices are surprisingly affordable. The ceramics are hand painted, often signed by the artist and available in stunning designs. Tea pots, tea cups and saucers, sugar bowls, milk jugs, tiles, fruit bowls, platters, napkin rings, lace table mats and more. Ndoro is also a stockist of jewellery and beadwork including gemstone jewellery with each stone having different meanings.
It is inspiring to poke around a bit, finding recycled pieces, hand painted wall hangings, table cloths, cushion covers, wooden baskets and carvings. It makes you want to explore the African continent even more.
Enjoy what you take home and by the way, you’re doing something good at the same time. By purchasing products of Ndoro, you help to sustain the livelihood and skills of local craftworkers.
