Sweeping curves, intimate bomas and Cape Town’s first Gold's Gym
Last updated: Tuesday, 14 July 2026
Things are about to change on the quieter end of Bree Street. Hundreds of residents will call The Madison home. And thousands of locals will enjoy its restaurants, shops and Gold's Gym, made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It’s developed by one of South Africa’s top luxury property developers, Tricolt Group. The 23-storey building brings together curves, arches and open design with futuristic features like an eco-friendly architecture and electric vehicle charging bays. Instead of just another concrete box, it's intentionally designed to soften the CBD’s skyline. Apartment sales launch on Wednesday, 29 July.

The Madison will rise at 142 Bree Street, right between Leeuwen and Dorp streets. The latter is dotted with salons and eateries, while both lead into Loop and Long for easy access to even more of what the city offers.
Locals might round its soft corners on the way to burgers at Clarke's, meeting friends at The Ladder or heading to Clay Café with the kids.
From morning matchas and gallery visits to intimate dinners at Nikkei, much of a resident’s day could unfold within a few blocks of home.

One of the most exciting amenities is Gold's Gym. Founded in California in 1965, it became famous after the documentary Pumping Iron introduced Arnold Schwarzenegger to the world. There are branches anywhere from Dubai to Tokyo, Berlin and Riyadh – and now, for the first time, Cape Town.
The convenience of a world-class gym in your building is just one way The Madison is trying to make everyday living feel effortless. You could answer emails from the coworking spaces, unwind in the pool, meet friends for dinner at the residents' restaurant, then end the evening around fire pits and bomas.

The Madison apartments, starting from R2.65 million, offer a range of homes to suit different lifestyles. Spread across 23 floors are 391 residences, from executive suites and one- and two-bedroom apartments to luxurious penthouses.
The penthouses feature wraparound terraces and uninterrupted views of the city.
You can choose between two- and three-bedroom layouts on selected penthouse levels, giving you flexibility to tailor the space to your lifestyle.
Two-bedroom apartments come with one parking space, while three-bedroom apartments come with two parking bays. One-bedroom apartments have the option to add parking.
Concierge and short-term letting services, app-driven amenities and 24-hour security handle the practicalities, while backup power, fibre-ready apartments, electric vehicle charging bays and a green building design prepare it for what's next.

Known for luxury residential developments like Olympus Sandton and Aspire Waterfall in Johannesburg, Tricolt Group is bringing its biggest Cape Town project yet to Bree Street.
The architecture breaks away from the predictable concrete buildings often found in the city. Sweeping curves and open spaces give The Madison a softer, more refined look, creating a building that's designed to feel connected to the street below, not closed off from it.

Curves and hotel-inspired finishes set The Madison apart from the city's typical skyline. Image: The Madison
The Madison combines a sought-after Bree Street address with lock-up-and-go convenience and short-term letting options, making it well positioned for Cape Town's growing demand for city accommodation.
