This year there will be mouth watering displays at the annual Knysna Gastronomica festival taking place during the upcoming spring months on South Africa’s Garden Route.

The festival will be 10 days crammed with hands-on workshops, demonstrations, competitions and discussions.

Gastronomica is an exciting culinary festival held in Knysna for the general public, food enthusiast and professionals with emphasis put on the freshest seasonal ingredients.

From international and national chefs, restaurateurs, cookery enthusiasts, tourists and locals to the farmers who produce and artisans who process the products, everyone will be celebrating fresh, fine food.

Organizers of Gastronomica also give their commitment to training, development and empowerment with an added touch of fun.

Although everything is built around food, Gastronomica is much more than just eating and tasting. Fashion, music, the visual and performing arts, all form part of the festival, but every offering will be food-related.

Knysna’s town's environs offer many exciting activities, including boat trips on the lagoon, safe beaches, invigorating forest walks, visits to cheese-makers in the area and much more.
