Join us in creating a DNA-changing impact on the province

Last updated: 16 May 2024

If you are looking to start a career with a company with a bold purpose and the ability to achieve, and are excited by the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, these opportunities are for you

We’re on a mission to create a DNA-changing impact on locals, visitors, small businesses and this destination through daily Moments of Joy. For happier people and a better place, unlocking magic around the corner and creating a magnet the world can not wait to be a part of.

If this excites you, see below and apply.

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

We are looking for: A social media savvy young person who is organised, eager to learn and wants to start a career at CapeTownMagazine.com. Who loves online content, especially social media. Who loves creating it and seeing it resonate with people. You have strong English writing skills. We're looking for someone who is steeped in Cape Town culture, and loves to explore the province.

You should apply if: You live on Instagram and TikTok and are looking to embark on a permanent position at CapeTownMagazine.com. You’ve always been bothered by the fact that feeds about Cape Town focus too much on Camps Bay and too little about Khayelitsha and other suburbs. You want to learn, working under the guidance of seniors. Are excited by the idea of producing content that will be posted to 252 000 followers, and that’s only on Instagram. This is your perfect opportunity to help start a career in online media and marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule social media posts to curate our feeds

  • Community management

  • Create content like Reels and TikToks

  • Take part in brainstorming sessions

  • Pitch new ideas (what we call discoveries)

  • Support to the content and business team

  • Assist with feedback reports (capturing stats)

  • Source photos and videos and edit it using image editing software

  • Learn and master our content management and production systems

  • Go on experiences

  • Share your creative ideas on projects and campaigns

Duration: 6 months, with the chance for a permanent position.

Stipend: R5 000 per month, with the chance for increase after three months depending on performance.

To apply: Click this link to answer a few questions and upload your CV.

Closing date for applications: 12 June 2024, but interviews start now.
