Cape Town Festival Unity Parade

Forget and lines that try and divide us - we are going to break those with this event celebrating Unity

The Cape Town Festival will call on all people across all communities in the Western Cape to commemorate and celebrate the City of Cape Town’s diversity and culture by getting to know each other and thereby discontinuing the divisions of the past and the present.

The Unity Parade is organised by the Cape Town Festival and will depart from the Kaizergracht Street, District Six and move to the Company’s Gardens.

The Cape Town Festival calls on all communities to use their energy to challenge persisting notions of racial, gender, and other forms of discrimination not only by legal or political procedures, but also through building relationships with people from different persuasions.

All people need to have
the sense that the idea of a "One City, Many Cultures" is about celebrating our diversity and seeks to discover our humanness in every situation.

Who are we?

The Unity Parade is not about getting together to fight something nor is it a rally. It is about demonstrating Unity and common ground between the groups.

This is the essence of the Unity Parade, it is the time to unite on what we ALL believe in and why we all exist.

We attempt to touch on
all aspects of heritage, and conclude the Unity March with dynamic speakers.
