Great places to stay in the Cape

'CAPE STYLE' is an accommodation guide for those who want to experience all their senses

Cape Town is often described as 'paradise'. That’s no surprise. Kerstin Hagge and Alfred Puchta knows all about the Cape’s magic and decided to express their love for Cape Town and surroundings in their new book 'CAPE STYLE'.

It’s a picture book with over 340 colour photographs of inspiring places to stay when visiting the Cape Town area. The authors provide an overview of 25 charming guest houses, small hotels and lodges, where guests can lean away from the usual tourist tracks and receive individual attention from their hosts. The featured houses are mostly owned by European immigrants who now call the Cape home. They personally offer guests a venue with a South African flair, combined with European hospitality.

Alfred Puchta and Kerstin Hagge toured Southern Africa for years to design this very special accommodation guide for hotel-geeks who love and appreciate that 'certain something'. This is about an inspiring lifestyle and restful sleep. The hotels, guest houses and lodges are described and illustrated in a way that evokes longing for those who has never been to the Cape s well as those with travel plans.

'Can I afford to stay here?' is certainly one question that comes up. Kerstin Hagge says "We have deliberately omitted a structure, since the change in prices in South Africa are very volitile. We have combined different 'houses', as we all know from experience that many travelers don’t intend to stay in 5-star accommodation only. This is South Africa (We're not in Dubai). We didn’t want to make a typical travel guide; we made a coffee-table book to create a desire for South Africa."

The price class of accommodation options featured in the book CAPE STYLE ranges from R1100 (per double room) in Klaasvoogd to R6500 for a suite in Llandudno (about 100 to 650 €).
