Ten top outdoor restaurants

Food, wine and warm summer skies

Cape Town's scenic beauty provides visitors with a multitude of Kodak moments. That's why it's best not to waste your holiday indoors. We have compiled a list of 10 of our favourite open-air restaurants - giving you ample opportunity to spend your evenings dining underneath the starry sky. Pair this experience with pre-dinner drinks at our recommended sundowner spots.

Sotano
Enjoy the sea view from their outside tables at this Mediterranean style restaurant on Beach Road. You can choose between tapas or a meal prepared with seasonal ingredients and complement either with wine from their impressive list.

Dornier Bodega Restaurant
Bodega Restaurant has one of the most beautiful settings in the Cape Winelands. It’s quietly tucked away on the Dornier wine farm in the picturesque Blaauwklippen Valley outside Stellenbosch. From the Mediterranean style terrace you see the ultra modern wine cellar across the large Koi fish pond, a design from Christoph Dornier, founder of the estate.
