Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Catch the UCT Rag Concert and other top concerts in April 2009 as part of the summer concert series at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town.

The Kirstenbosch summer concerts, which run from November to April, have become synonymous with every Cape Town summer, and have a special feel to them mainly due to the breathtaking setting.

Part of the charm also lies in the warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with concert-goers picnicking on the soft grass banks that slope downwards towards the stage.

UCT at Kirstenbosch:

Featuring both new and established artists, the UCT RAG and Old Mutual Summer Concert showcases a variety of South African music. The 2009 Summer Concert is better than ever before!

Catch JacSharp and Gang of Instrumentals perform in collaboration with the UCT Symphonic Orchestra, along with internationally acclaimed saxophonist Shannon Mowday and South Africa’s celebrated conductor, Richard Cock.

The event attracts a diverse audience including tourists, families and students. Every ticket you buy goes entirely towards UCT RAG’s sole beneficiary, SHAWCO.

What’s more… If you buy a picnic blanket at the event, both the funds as well as the blanket will be donated to SHAWCO after the event. What better way to have fun and help your community at the same time!

UCT RAG (Remember and Give) is the fundraising arm of SHAWCO, a student-run non-profit organization that carries out education and health care programmes in developing communities within the Cape Metropolitan area (www.shawco.org).
