You cannot take Gerry home with you… the Giraffe House will notice

The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre offers education and entertainment alike for families

The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre in Stellenbosch is a relatively new centre (in the process of being registered a non-profit organisation) providing easy access to some of our South African wildlife and bird species.

Focusing mainly on African wildlife, Giraffe House aims to provide a place for people to enjoy a family picnic in the fresh Cape Town air, whilst experiencing and learning about animals and conservation.

The Giraffe House offers the family an opportunity to spend affordable quality time together outdoors.

Jungle gyms and a giraffe jumping castle are available and not to worry about the little ones, all the animals are in enclosed camps.

There is no restaurant on the premises, but a refreshment kiosk supplies snacks and something to drink. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic basket.

Education is the primary focus at the Giraffe House, and they cater for pre-school and school groups.

You are able to walk through the Giraffe house at your own leisure although guided tours will be available on request.

The Giraffe House is possibly the best kiddies’ party venue as well as an educational school tour.

From the smallest to the largest and meanest wild animals at The Giraffe House:

At present they have some pretty special animals! They have the smallest antelope in the world, the blue duiker as well as the largest antelope in the world, the eland.

They also have the tallest animal in the world - the giraffe, otherwise known as Gerry, the farm’s favourite - as well as the largest and meanest reptile in Africa, the Nile crocodile.

Pack the picnic basket mom! We are going to The Giraffe House!
