Indulge in the Italian way of life for an entire weekend as this festival in Somerset West celebrates this unique Mediterranean food and wine culture.

EAT, DRINK AND BE ITALIAN
The two-day festival will see a host of food, wine, prosecco, Italian craft beer and live music at Idiom Wine Estate tasting centre, which overlooks the Helderberg mountains and False Bay. You can expect Italian favourites such as pizza, pasta, Italian sausage, polenta, gelato and other classic foods, but the vino section is where you’ll find authentic Italian wines and the opportunity to taste and buy.

SIP INTERNATIONAL VINOS
Your ticket includes entry to the festival, a bottle of San Pellegrino or Aqua Panna water as well as access to the wine and prosecco tasting areas, where you’ll be able to savour wine importer Vinotria’s selection of imported Italian wines available for purchase. Compare these authentic Italian wines to Idiom’s locally-grown Italian grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Primitivo and Pinot Grigio and take your favourites home with you. You’ll also be able to take part in tractor tours around the estate and grape picking and stomping, so you get the full Italian wine experience, all included in your event pass.

WHY ITALY?
Owned and run by the Italo-South African Bottega family, Idiom Wines provides the ideal space for this annual Italian Festival. Run by Alberto, Laura, Silvana, Roberto and Valerie Bottega, the event is close to home and makes for an even more authentic food and wine experience out in the winelands.

TICKETS TO THE ITALIAN FESTIVAL 2019
Kid’s day passes cost R80pp. General admission passes, which include a programme, tasting glass, event pass, Italian wine and prosecco tasting, tractor tours, grape picking and stomping cost R200pp.
