The Vanilla at Beerhouse

Get a little taste of the local vanilla…

Your normal Saturday night hangout at Beerhouse is getting an energetic injection. On Saturday, 22 July 2017 The Vanilla will take to the stage to serenade you while you enjoy an ice-cold one with the boys.  

As you know, Beerhouse boasts one of the most extensive selections of beers in the Cape Town area; over 99 bottles and 20 taps offering you an awesome range of local craft beers. Their oasis of kegs are something that every true appreciator of the art of brewing should partake in, and bar is centrally located so Uber-ing will not be a problem! I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Beerhouse, but their food is pretty delicious too; their menu boasts traditional pub grub, including steaks, fries, burgers, bunny chow and some curries (meat and beer goes really well, I am told).

Getting back to the music, The Vanilla is a local four-piece band that hails from the Northern Suburbs. They are often described as a ‘feel-good pop band’, and they simply love performing for the awesome audiences in Cape Town. The band is made up of Jaen-Pierre Dowling (bass guitar), Francois Keyser (drums), Tyan Odendal (guitar and vocals) and Barthlo Visagie (lead guitar and synth). The Vanilla will provide the perfect soundtrack to a chilled out night in the city!

They will be joined on the night by fellow local band; The Young Folks. This Stellenbosch band is made up of three very talented musicians that combine rock ’nroll with pop to create a super upbeat sound. They also like to add a little local flavour, and have been doing so since they started in 2014. They made some awesome music since then, so check out some of their best work to get you in the mood -
