True to Madame May’s French heritage, Glenelly and everything about it is based on a very refined taste.

South African wines are sometimes still considered heavy and bold. In contrast, Glenelly Estate wines are finessed and French influenced.

Luke O’Cuinneagain - the winemaker at Glenelly Estate - mentions a very specific focus to make “fresh and elegant wines” in contrast to what is typically expected from South African wines: "Most whack them in wood, and let the wood lead the wine." he smiles, and sips.

All wine tastings at this Stellenbosch estate is free and are available Monday to Saturday. Cellar and wine estate tours are possible but it is advisable to book.
