A Celebration of the Vine - from fine wines and culinary creations to music and the arts - is the focus of the 10th annual Stellenbosch Wine Festival from 28th to 31st July 2011.
A bouquet of invitations to a leisurely Stellenbosch sojourn this July, as the Stellenbosch Wine Festival celebrates 4 decade of Winelands splendour.
The Stellenbosch Wine Festival has become a tradition during the winter months and is a popular attraction for both local and international wine enthusiasts.
A joyous experience of all things epicurean, the festival showcases over 500 Stellenbosch wines for visitors to sample. The Wine Week offers a wide-ranging kaleidoscope of family-friendly activities, which include food and wine encounters at top wine estates, restaurant offers, exclusive winemaker dinners and wine tastings, all blended into one big barrel of fun.
The preceding Stellenbosch Wine Week kicks off on Friday 22nd July, and offers a feast of indulgences on many of the 150 farms that make up the Stellenbosch American Express® Wine Routes.
Daily wine tastings and cellar tours are non-negotiable features on the itinerary of visitors to the area and to make sense of the diversity of wineries and wine farms, the route has been divided into five sub-routes - Greater Simonsberg, Stellenbosch Berg, Helderberg, Stellenbosch Hills and Bottelary Hills.
Ideal for day trips or for a prolonged stay in the Winelands, the Stellenbosch Wine Week is the place to be, so be sure to book early as seating is limited at many of the events.
“Stellenbosch is the heart of the South African wine industry, and has both amazing scenery, as well as a long proud history in the art of wine-making,” shares international golf professional and Stellenbosch wine estate owner, Ernie Els.
Take your taste buds on a sensory journey at Die Bergkelder and experience award winning Fleur du Cap Unfiltered wines with indulgent delights in this famous “cellar in the mountain."
