This lunch time bistro-style restaurant in the city centre is open once a week for Thursday dinners (starting at 6.30pm), and you won’t want to miss the fantastic seasonal menu that chef Vanessa Marx puts together each week.
This popular spot is dedicated to producing simple, honest food that is ethically produced and based on the available produce. Each week the chef will put together a selection of delectable courses, and guests are invited to choose dishes from the â la carte menu and to accompany their meal with suggested wine pairings.
Dear Me focuses on delicious meals that accommodate vegetarians, vegans and people with other special dietary requirements, so this is a great dinner option for those of you who are not catered for elsewhere.
Served both in the relaxed, informal dining area downstairs and in the elegant White Room upstairs, dinner is different each week depending on what ingredients are available. Past favourites include the honey glazed free-range smoky pork neck with sweet potato dumplings or the slow roasted tomato and artichoke tagliatelle.
In addition to the well fantastic wine pairings, there are Cape Winemakers Guild selections sold at nearly cost price. This is a fantastic experience for food and wine lovers, and as it is limited to 30 people each week, it is an intimate, special experience. Booking is essential, as availability is limited. Walk-ins are welcome; though, seating is subject to space.
