The EDGE Glass Gallery Presents ‘African Light’
The EDGE Glass Gallery presents 'African Light' - an exhibition of local and international art glass
The African Light Exhibition explores the inherent reflective qualities of art glass as they mirror a palette of African colours, shades and textures.
The EDGE Glass Gallery is the country’s only glass gallery representing glass artists from across the world. Founded by glass artist Nelius Britz, it also incorporates the Cape Glass Studio - the first kiln-formed glass studio of its kind in South Africa.
The lack of a venue in South Africa where the best of South African art glass could be viewed under one roof prompted Nelius Britz to establish the EDGE Glass Gallery. Nelius also addressed the need of South Africans to be familiarized with international standards of art glass by importing works of renowned glass artists from countries such as Australia, the Netherlands and England.
Interest in art glass in South Africa is increasing and more glass artists are emerging. Now visitors and collectors can find in the EDGE gallery art glass of the highest calibre.
