Enter the digital realm with Maryke Hough at the Old Biscuit Mill

While there’s no disputing that the world needs its accountants, tax advisors and legal geniuses, the need for artists and creatives is also profound.

Enter the Cape Town Creative Academy (CTCA) - a higher education facility focusing on the creative industry and development. The CTCA invites all secondary school learners and their parents to their Cape Town Creative Showcases – a series of events that feature prominent, local and professional creatives, and that provide a platform for interested future scholars to hear these creative industry giants talk and give presentations. The series aims to act as an instrument that both illuminates some truths about the creative industry, and that works to reassure parents worried that their child will turn into the proverbial ‘starving artist’.

More so now, than in generations gone by, creativity is recognised as an avenue of progress, and there are countless paths that interested artists can pursue.

More specifically, the CTCA aims to build a respectful and realistic reputation for creative professions in the minds of scholars and their parents. For all those considering their future, or the future of their creative, march-to- the-beat-of-a-different-drum offspring, these Cape Town Creative Showcases are sure to prove most enlightening.

September Cape Town Creative Showcase

The latest Cape Town Creative Showcase takes place on Saturday, 1 September 2012 at 11am. It features Maryke Hough, the ever-strategic expert with the latest and greatest developments in digital brand management and the digital realm of social media.

This showcase also neatly coincides with the opening of Hough’s studio – ‘That’s it Communications’, at the Old Biscuit Mill.

The presentation is hosted by TIP Publishing in their offices on the second level of the courtyard of the Old Biscuit Mill (follow the posters and signs from the entrance).

Entrance is Free. It only costs you if you don’t come... like, later in life.
