Second Time Around celebrates Cape Town by taking a journey through the musical and local flavours. Yussie - aka Yusuf Samuels aka Boeta ‘Yu’ (Loukmaan Adams) - and Roddi - aka Roderick Samuels (Keenan Arrison) - are in charge of the lost baggage at Cape Town International Airport.
Yussie has been there for years and is earnestly committed to his job while Roddi, who only recently became permanent, has dreams of making his fifteen seconds of fame a reality at the World Cup Opening Ceremony. However, he needs to convince the very reluctant “star” Yussie to put on his dancing shoes of yester year and drag him off to an audition.
In the mean time, their demanding boss, Mr. D (Jody Abrahams) has his own hidden agendas. Is he just an innocent bystander or is there a Dark secret?
The World Cup Opening Ceremony audition is Yussie’s last and Roddi’s first chance for bigger things aka ’The Big Time’ aka Screaming Female Fans aka SHOWBIZ. On the journey to possible World Cup Fame, we share their childhood dreams and teenage nightmares. Yussie always almost succeeded in hitting the winning seat and experienced the ‘Big Time’, while Roddi still dreams of ‘The Big Time’ and still fantasizes about the ‘Screaming Female Fans’.
But something disastrous happened on-route to F.A.M.E (World Cup fame that is) and we are about to find out…
