New location! More bands & DJ's! Same awesome New Year’s party! Voted “the coolest New Year’s Eve party to hit South Africa” Rock The River SA is once again set to take place come New Year’s Eve 2010.
Situated on the banks of the picturesque Berg River Rock the River SA II aims to provide party goers with a safe and intimate (limited to 1000 tickets) celebration, with outdoor, live music and DJ experience featuring over 25 of Cape Town and SA's finest bands and DJs, a scrumptious selection of food stalls, market goodies, comfy camping, and much riverside revelry!
This year’s festival runs for three full days over the New Year’s weekend, and will provide a tasty, genre-busting line-up of legendary, as well as up ‘n coming SA bands and DJ's. The celebration will feature the likes of The Rudimentals, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Half Price, The Mochines, 7th Son, Joshua Grierson, The Sleepers, McCree, When Karma Sleeps, Witness To Wolves, Stonecollar, Anaphys, Mean Streets (JHB), Shots Fired (KZN), Fear Versus Twelve, Cannon, Silent Side, DJ Side-show, DJ Squeek and loads more.
Ska, reggae, punk, dub, folk, blues, rock, oldies and a lil’ bit of metal will set the soundtrack for what promises to be a rocking weekend on the banks of the Berg River.
Adding an extra dimension of fun to the weekend will be The Black Orchid Beasties (Burlesque show), Guitar Hero competition, drinks specials, food stalls, safe swimming, loads of free parking, Dub dance floor, Exile Island chill-out area (acoustic instruments welcome), ATM machines on site, clean bathrooms, showers and good vibes galore.
