Beluga is a stylish eatery located in the Foundry, a wonderful 100-year-old red-brick building that is now converted into a modern interior design and office centre, just around the corner from the V&A Waterfront.
Voted as one of the world’s top 60 restaurants by Conde’Nast Traveller, Beluga has had its tables graced by the likes of President Bill Clinton and actor Samuel L Jackson.
The restaurant consists of a 160-seater dining area and offers the best of new cooking – plenty of robust flavours, interesting ingredients and generous portions and great new age sushi , all supported by impeccable, seamless and friendly service.

This year’s New Year’s Eve Dinner menu at Beluga: On arrival: A flow of welcome cocktails, mojito’s, brut rosé, kir royals and martinis.
Amuse-Bouche: Lemongrass Scallop Brochette - A decadent treat with a touch of caviar and a cheeky shot of Bloody Mary.
Second Course: Norwegian Salmon Rillettes - Confited with basil and lemon, potted and served with crème fraiche, sun blushed tomatoes, herbed baguette, rocket and caper berry salad
OR Smoked Ostrich Carpaccio with a petite goat’s feta salad, confit of cherry tomatoes, bean sprouts and salsa verde
OR Tarte Tatin - Baby beetroot and shallot tarte, topped with goat’s feta, toasted seeds and beetroot and a aged balsamic glaze
OR Beluga’s Fashion Sushi - A selection of gourmet sushi- sesame and coriander tuna bean curd nigiri and salmon roses
OR Tom Ka Kai - A fragrant, coconut-scented Thai broth.
Third Course: Oysters - Fresh, succulent, West Coast oysters served natural with a lightly spiced mirin and sake vinaigrette
OR Duck Liver Roulade with a summer berry compote, micro greens and a sesame cracker
OR Beef Carpaccio served with biltong shavings, poached baby pears, gorgonzola, walnuts and a watercress salad
OR Sushi-Gourmard - Peking scented tuna california and a seven spice salmon California
OR Beluga Summer Salad served with citrus segments, mozzarella cheese melon, toasted seeds, assorted crispy leaves and herb vinaigrette.
Fourth Course: Ponzu Glazed Salmon Medalion on potato fondant with a watercress salad, beetroot tatziki, and salmon caviar
OR Double Best End of Lamb - Oven-roasted and served with pomme William, haricots verts, confit of cherry tomatoes and rosemary jus
OR A Taste of Seafood - One giant tiger prawn, three langoustines and salt-fried calamari with rocket salad, chilli and lime salsa, lemon beurre blanc and basmati rice
OR Salmon Wellington -
Three paupiettes of salmon wrapped in puff pastry, topped with béarnaise sauce, asparagus, pakchoi and salmon ‘caviar’
OR Herb Crusted Fillet of Beet - A succulent cut, pan-fried to perfection and presented with pomme neuf, confit of rosa tomato, roasted baby onions and a trio of mustard jus
OR The Showstopper -
A succulent cut of prime beef fillet, pan-fried to perfection and presented on truffle mash with roasted baby onions, cherry tomato confit, bone marrow and a bordelaise jus
OR Asian-scented Duck Ballontine – Rich medallion of duck with a Peking glaze on wok-fried bahmi gorreng rice noodles, sesame Chinese cabbage samoosa and hot and sour sauce.
Fifth Course: Vanilla and Rum Panacotta with fresh berries and mint syrup
OR Caramalised Banana & White Chocolate Springrolls with a cinnamon infused dipping sauce
OR Belgium Chocolate Truffle Cake served with almond tuille and vanilla bean ice-cream
OR Beluga Summer Fruit Symphony with a champagne sorbet
