“We are scatterlings of Africa – You and I” - Johnny Clegg
There’s something enigmatic about Africa, and there’s something magical about photography’s way of capturing this mystical quality. Combine these two, and you know something special is going to happen. The Nature’s Best Photography Africa Exhibition is a means of celebrating both the beauty of this phenomenal continent and the skill of the people who photograph it. The exhibit will run from Wednesday, 24 June until Saturday, 26 September 2015 at the Iziko South African Museum.

The exhibition features 70 world-class photographs from the winners and finalists of the world’s preeminent annual African nature-oriented photographic competition. Expect to be blown away by gorgeous scenes of savannahs, wildlife, birds, the Big Five and more. If you’re not already in love with this continent, you will be after this show.
The Nature’s Best Photography competition started in America with the aim of utilising the medium of photography to capture the exquisite diversity of nature, with the additional goal of fostering conservation awareness. The Africa exhibition is an extension of this goal, with an African theme and a mission to bring the continent’s biodiversity to the fore. The competition runs in partnership with the Iziko South African Museum, and will provide a platform for some of the world’s foremost photographers to showcase their skills.
If you’re an avid fan of nature, photography or both, this is definitely one to diarise.
