Guns n' Roses announce 2007 tour with concerts in South Africa
The rock n' roll machine known as Guns N' Roses have announced that they will be hitting the road starting in April. The first leg of the Chinese Democracy World Tour 2007 will see GN'R performing in Japan, Thailand, South Africa, South America, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
2006 saw Guns N' Roses perform over 70 concerts all over the world to rave reviews. With the release of the highly anticipated Chinese Democracy album imminent, 2007 promises to be even busier and more exciting for the band and their loyal fans. When it comes to performing live, lead vocalist W. Axl Rose, guitarist Robin Finck, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, and drummer Frank Ferrer are a rock n' rock spectacular that have to be experienced to be believed.
Evanescence in Cape Town and Joburg
Having sold nearly 14 million records worldwide with their debut major-label album Fallen, Evanescence continues their meteoric rise with their latest offering, The Open Door. The album from the two-time Grammy-winning band is defined by Amy Lee's beautiful melodies, compelling lyrics, poignant piano and stunning vocals, fused with the urgent, yet intricate guitar sounds of Terry Balsamo and John LeCompt, and the powerful drumming of Rocky Gray, to form a seamless, ethereal mixture that perfectly channels the band's hard rock and classical sensibilities. The bands evolving sound is a nearly mystical marriage between rock, goth and classical.
Hoobastank
Listeners tired of rock's same-sounding rap will rejoice upon hearing the melodic resonance of Hoobastank. Dan Estrin (guitar), Doug Robb (vocals), Chris Hesse (drums), and Markku Lappalainen (bass) deliver electrifying tunes that slice through the genre's stylistic fetishes and goes straight for its emotional core, blending invigorating melodies and sharp, insistent hooks with blasting rhythm rock guitars.
3 Doors Down
3 Doors Down are one of the most popular and consistently successful rock bands in recent history. According to Billboard Magazine, they were the first debut act to ever have had a No.1 single at four different radio formats simultaneously with "Kryptonite", off their 2000 debut "The Better Life". The quintet consist of Brad Arnold - lead vocals; Matt Roberts - guitar; Todd Harrell - bass and Chris Henderson - guitar.
Staind
Staind have produced 4 platinum albums over 10 years, had numerous Top 10 and No.1 songs in both the Rock and Pop format, and sold in excess of 12,000,000 units worldwide. Their songs range from forceful to quiet, from industrial-tinged to melodious, often within one song! The band are Aaron Lewis on vocals and guitar, Mike Mushok on guitar, Johnny April on bass and Jon Wysocki on drums.
