Unusual things to do for Easter in Cape ...
Not your typical plans. Candle concert, (free) light art, game drive & more
What better way to end your weekend than to head out to a beautiful garden to enjoy local musicians pouring out their beats as you lounge on the lawn and sip a glass of wine all while the sun sets over the back of Table Mountain?
After returning from an international tour, award-winning, Johannesburg-based band, Mi Casa will be performing at the Concert Stage at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens at one of the many fantastic Sunday Summer Sunset Concerts on Sunday, 24 January 2016.
Mi Casa was started in 2010 by three members: Dr Duda (DJ and producer), J-Something (vocals and guitar) and Mo-T (trumpeter), who bring together a soulful mix of house and jazz – perfect to wind down to and relax before a new week. The band performs annually at these events and is very popular among local concert goers who look forward to hearing old favorites such as ‘These Streets’ and ‘Heavenly Sent’ as well as new tracks. You can expect the band to perform singles from both of their albums and they are sure to get you tapping along to the beat.
It is highly recommended that you pack a picnic (wine, sandwiches and chocolate should just be the start) and bring a big blanket to lounge on in order to thoroughly enjoy the experience. You will want to get there early and gates open at 4pm giving you ample time to find the best spot right at the front or under one of the beautiful big trees. The band will start performing at 5:30pm and end around 7pm when the sun has just about set. Be warned; the concerts go on, rain, wind or shine, so it’s important to pack sunscreen, a warm jersey or wind breaker to be prepared for what the weather might bring while you’re out on the lawn.
So grab some friends and book your tickets quick for a chance to enjoy a Sunday evening the right way.
