Mother City Queer Projects is a Queer Art Party Project, now in it’s 13th incarnation. Each year the main event is simply one big gay costume party that will blow your mind away.

A new theme is chosen for the big night each year. The theme guides the creative team, artists, and partygoers, in their conceptualisation and creativity.

Partygoers (and their costumes), artists and volunteers are the core strength of this uniquely Cape Town project.

Each year we start from scratch with a new theme, which means tons of time, energy and creativity is invested in making sure YOU have the best night out.

On the night you’ll all meet to get ready, it’s the only event in Cape Town where you don’t want to be fashionably late. Get there and scope out the costumes, the art, the décor, the entertainment and then dance the night away.

The 2008 MCQP will once again take on an exciting theme that takes creativity to a whole new level with:

Lights, Camera, Action! Theme for MCQP 2008.

The producers of MCQP were thrilled to announce this year’s theme to a jam-packed crowd at The Loft Lounge.

The 2008 theme will highlight the golden years of Hollywood and guarantee to get everyone into their Oscar Award-winning best costume!

At this MCQP, the paparazzi will be clicking away, the champagne will be resting in the ice buckets and an array of hot men and ladies will be in attendance, so you will be assured of the most glitzy event this side of Hollywood… or Bollywood.

To enhance the Hollywood effect, you will be greeted by a mob of “star-struck” fans the minute you arrive, and to guarantee that your very own publicity shot is taken in true style, MCQP will provide flashing lights, writhing bodies and out-of-this-world décor.

But wait, there’s more…! Put your best foot forward and enter the event and you’ll be met by Hollywood-like sets, extras, actors, production staff and pulsating dance floors – truly the stuff of stars.
