Has the humdrum of life sapped the joy from your partnership? Are you finding it hard to communicate with your loved one or experiencing seemingly irreconcilable conflict? Or do you just want to reignite that honeymoon phase passion?
Relationship gurus Francois and Riana Hanekom will give you the tools to get your bond back on track at the Imago Couples Counselling Workshop at the Two Oceans Aquarium from Friday, 20 to Sunday, 22 June 2014.
Hosted in the Tranquility Venue at the underwater wonderland, this intensive three-day course affords a small group of couples the opportunity to discover the keys to a successful relationship Fully certified husband-and-wife team and workshop leaders Francois and Riana use the so-called Imago approach to therapy to create a safe space where pairs can partake in meaningful and constructive dialogues and examine the unique phases of their own ‘Love Relationship’.
In a bid to deal with the obstacles that hinder a fruitful partnership, the course goes so far as to address how the wounds of early childhood relationships may be hindering adult connections. The sessions also look at power struggles and the reactivity of the brain and how these factors affect open and clear communication between partners as well as a session that tackles the idea of sexual renewal.
MORE ABOUT THE IMAGO THERAPY TECHNIQUE
Based on the groundbreaking work of self-help author Harville Hendrix, the Imago Theory serves as a guide to couples looking to deepen their connection and grow together while also evolving as individuals.
Best known for his best-selling book Getting the Love You Want, Hendrix is a clinical pastoral counselor and has made a number of appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where he discussed Imago Relationship Therapy, a method of counselling he co-created with his wife Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D., and the concept of ’conscious partnership’.
So, if you’re looking to make your love relationship work, get over your seven-year itch or simply strengthen your bond, then this out-of-the-box workshop is just the thing for you and your partner.
