Spend a Saturday afternoon in the elegant Table Bay Hotel lounge sipping on fine teas and eating an assortment of delectable pastries.
After a recent partnership with TWG tea, the finest luxury tea brand in the world, the five-star Sun International Waterfront hotel has infused their already impressive offering with a few opulent extras. Now a three-course affair, tea takers are invited to enjoy separate themed selections with complementary loose leaf teas.
The first course matches light bodied teas from Darjeeling and China with savoury edibles like mushroom and ham quiche, delicately sliced cucumber sandwiches, and more. The second course is devoted to a high tea mainstay, freshly baked scones. English Breakfast tea, French Early Grey and Good Hope teas are served alongside the scones and their smorgasbord of spreads, from strawberry jam and clotted cream to currant scones served with lemon curd. The third course invites patrons to indulge in heavenly desserts and sweet treats galore. Whether you’d prefer to take your Rooibos with chocolate puffs with hazelnut cream, or relax with a cup of the exclusive Bain de Roses black tea blend and banana cupcakes with butterscotch sauce and caramel pound cakes covered in honeycomb, it’s your choice. Vanilla crème brulee, fruit salsa, chocolate truffle tart, black forest cake, honey and almond cake, peach and white chocolate gateau and traditional Malva pudding and custard are also in the mix.
All in all, this delicious afternoon tea is the perfect treat for a special occasion or a ‘just because’ outing with a friend. Meet friends for a birthday tea or simply gather the family together for a Saturday afternoon together.
The teas are served every day of the week. To make your reservation contact the hotel on +27 21 406 5918 or email tbhfs@za.suninternational.com to make your booking.
