Altered States – Lunar Trance Party in the Overberg

One of the few remaining authentic underground psytrance gatherings takes place soon

If trance festivals and EDM concerts have become too mainstream for you, then you should attend one of the last legitimate underground psychedelic gatherings in the Western Cape. Altered States – Lunar takes place at the Circle of Dreams, in the tiny village of Riviersonderend in the Overberg region, from Friday, 11 to Sunday, 13 March 2016.

Each day of the three-day psytrance event has a unique vibe with awesome activities that will encourage you to get in touch with your consciousness and awaken your soul. Friday, 11 March 2016 has been dubbed “Shanti Friday”, and you can look forward to a conscious movie screening, a drum circle, stargazing and a braai at one of the many fire pits. There will be no music playing on Friday evening to allow the serene atmosphere to relax your mind ahead of the weekend.

Saturday will be the day to enrich your mind and soul with meditations and yoga sessions. The psychedelic tunes will have you captivated and the two-hour DJ sets will ensure seamless psychedelic trance music that will allow you to embark on a journey that is out of this world – continuing non-stop until 5pm on Sunday evening. After this there will be a closing ceremony where thanks will be given for the special moments shared with the community.

During your down-time at the festival, you can grab a bite to eat and recharge at one of the tasty food stalls, or peruse the craft stalls for quirky trinkets. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol, but there will be a basic bar facility where you can purchase beers, ciders and shooters. The artwork and psychedelic décor will please your eyes as you wander around the festival ground.
