#BEINSPIRING AND MANDELA’S 100TH BIRTHDAY
The 2018/2019 theme for the event is #BeInspiring. This year's theme is a call for Capetonians to stand up and help shape our common destiny; to think about how to use our specific talents to transform our world into a prosperous and unified space for all.

This year marks what would have been Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday. To honour him, we are encouraged to reflect on his life and legacy. Be motivated by the legacy Madiba and good and to help the less fortunate in practical ways.

TOP TIPS FOR ENJOYING THE FESTIVAL
The best hint we can give you is to arrive early. The event starts at 4pm but attendees start arriving in the morning to get a good spot. Camper chairs and cooler boxes are allowed, but no alcohol is allowed. Food and beverage vendors will be available at the event. Follow @espAfrika and #SwitchOnTheLights2018 on social media for regular updates, competitions and more.
