M.A.D about Child Protection Spinnathon

Spin for charity at La Piazza in Canal Walk

Friends of Child Protection is a non-governmental organisation based in Cape Town.

The NGO is hosting a fundraising Spinnathon for the much needed Comfort Packs they supply to the Child Protection and Sexual Offences units of the South African Police.

The aim is to get people to spin for an hour or for the duration of the event to raise funds and awareness.


The general public, cycling clubs and corporate teams are invited to join in the event.

The costs are:

R100 per entry for a one hour slot for adults

R50 per entry for a 30 minute slot for children aged 12 – 16 years.

Timeslots can be booked by pre-registering.

Entry forms are available electronically for pre-registration at fcp@webmail.co.za.

Entries on the day will also be accepted and timeslots will then be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

Apart from the Spinning, there will be comfort packs available on the day which the FCP will try to fill through donations from the public.

A list of items required for each pack will be made available on the day. Since 2006, FCP has supplied more than 14 000 comfort packs to the FCS Units.
