The December school holidays are looming, and you may find yourself wondering, "How am I going to keep them busy this time?" Sound 4 You has the solution: send your kids to learn how to DJ. From 9-12 December, let Sound 4 You teach your kids the ins and outs of deejaying. Venue to be announced, but it will be in the Rondebosch East/Lansdowne area.
LEARN THE INTRICACIES OF DEEJAYING
For four consecutive days during the school holidays, Sound 4 You is hosting one-hour workshops for school children of all ages. Every session covers a different element of deejaying, and after completion of the workshop, participants receive a certificate of attendance. The workshop is R500 per person, which includes all four sessions and any equipment/material required. Book a spot as soon as possible as the organisers want to keep the classes small (max four students per class).
LEARN FROM DJ-ING MASTERS
Teachers Adriaan and Stacey Hellenberg have over 30 years of deejaying, television post-production and music production experience when combined. They will teach aspiring DJs how to use digital controllers and students will leave the course with a mix-set uploaded to an online platform and, of course, a new skill to show off. You’ll also be able to keep an eye on them with a live podcast mix session on Facebook.
FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC
According to the organisers, the DJ workshops are a way to impact the lives of children; to inspire them and help them become more confident in their creativity. Sound 4 You is currently working with an NGO to put together a free class for kids who can't afford the workshop but love music. Get in touch with stacyheller@gmail.com to find out more.
