Enjoy a hauntingly thrilling night of music and laughs at the Courtyard Playhouse with award-winning playwright Juliet Jenkin’s new production Woolworths between 12-29 February.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Played by an intimate cast of seven, Cape Town audiences will get to see a hilarious, dark-witted and relatable story about middle-class South Africa.
Jenkin’s production, as a choral satire, is a dynamic work of vocal and physical theatre that closely follows the plot of four unique characters.
Lee-Anne the shopaholic, Jason the (wannabe) American, Emily who (desperately) wants to get married and insomniac Karen navigate through an intricate plot involving trellidoors, rhino charities, gold mines and game farms.
Lurching between humor and discomfort Woolworths will keep its audience on the edge of their seats where nothing is too sacred to be made into a joke.
THE COURTYARD PLAYHOUSE
The Courtyard offers a host of other productions and services. Downstairs from their newly designed theatre is their bar and restaurant which serves a range of cheese boards, tapas, desserts and drinks which you can leisurely enjoy before your show.
The Courtyard Playhouse doors open every day from Monday to Thursday at 6pm-11 pm, and from Friday to Saturday at 6pm-12 pm and every Sunday from 11am-10pm.
