The best brew in town? Well our friends at Beerhouse say “let’s pit the contenders against each other in a battle royale to find out.” This National Beer Day (2 February), the country’s favourite breweries will showcase their best beers in the Battle Of The Taps.
Beerhouse is giving you a chance to choose the champion, and providing bottomless beer for your troubles. Plus if you get in early you can save R50 on your ticket. Here’s what you need to know about this event at Beerhouse on Long Street.
IN THE RED AND BLUE CORNERS
Some of the country’s favourite breweries will be on the cards. These include RIOT Beer, Atlantic, Storm Craft Beers, Loxtonia Cider, Diesel and Dust Craft Beer, Drifter Brewing Company and Lakeside Brewing Co. among other.
THE BATTLE STIPULATIONS
Each ticket holder receives a token to vote for their favourite beer. At the end of the night, votes will be tallied and the brewery with the most is declared champion. This brewery will receive a six-month tap on the next Beerhouse winter menu. Second and third place will get four and two months respectively.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
Besides a voting token and a hip Long Street setting, each ticket holder gets bottomless beer for the duration of the festival. If you’re not interested in beer there will also be non-beer related drink on tap.
TICKETS TO THE BATTLE OF THE TAPS
Tickets are being sold in two phases. Phase one has limited tickets available at a price of R199. Phase two tickets will be R250 and can be bought at the door or booked online.
