Tang is opening at the V&A Waterfront in this spring
Last updated: Monday, 9 May 2022
One of Joburg’s most popular restaurants will be meeting one of the busiest spaces in the Mother City: Entrepreneur and restaurateur Nicky van der Walt, who first opened the luxury Asian restaurant at the iconic Nelson Mandela Square, is opening a new branch in the V&A Waterfront. This is Tang.

Tang took Joburg by storm when it first opened its doors in May 2021, “ushering in a new era in high-energy casual fine dining”, said IOL. The new restaurant in the V&A will be where Belthazar used to be. Tang will have the same luxurious, edgy design as its sister restaurant in Joburg, with incredible views of Table Mountain.

Guests can look forward to the same menu as the Joburg restaurant, described by Eat Out as “Tang’s signature take on contemporary Japanese izakayas and classic Cantonese cuisines for which the Joburg-based restaurant has become so well known.” Expect izakaya small plates, noodle bowls, sushi and other Asian delicacies.
