The Urban Warriors are ready for revenge against Maritzburg United

Ajax Cape Town will welcome Maritzburg United to the Cape Stadium on Friday, 5 January 2018 at 8pm.

The Urban Warriors endured a tough match when they played ‘the team of choice’ at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday, 23 August 2017. Stanley Menzo’s boys barely threatened Maritzburg United during the first half, and it was striker Evans Rusike who had the last say when he put the home team in front by a single goal. Ajax started the second half on all-out attack but could not beat the defense of goalkeeper Bongani Mpandle. Rusike ended all chances of a comeback by the team from the Cape by scoring a s second goal to give Maritzburg a 2-0 win.

Menzo will be concerned with his defense, especially after Rivaldo Coetzee transferred to Bloemfontein Celtic recently. Ajax Cape Town will be looking to capitalise on any chance of three points after a slow start to the season.
