Bona Dea Private Estate is set on the fynbos-rich mountain slopes that surround the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, where whales congregate in its seas during calving season and where a grand, white Cape Dutch-style manor house, bordered by neighbouring wine farms and swatches of olive groves, glitters.

AWARD-WINNING VENUE WITH ROMANTIC GARDEN TERRACES
It’s an all-year round, and all-weather venue, where guests get exclusive use of the Dendrobium House Venue Complex when it’s reserved for a wedding. The Cape Dutch-style manor house combined with a bold modern renovation, with airy reception rooms lead out onto a natural water feature and romantic garden terraces. While many ceremonies are held on the terrace, there is also an indoor chapel available on the lower ground level. A stylish ballroom seats up to 200 guests with a generous dance floor. The décor is chic and elegant, which makes the pretty panoramic views of nature king. 

ACCOMMODATION - THE VENUE, A COTTAGE AND A VILLA
Dendrobium Venue Complex House, upstairs in the venue, has three bedrooms and two beautifully furnished bathrooms, perfect for a bride and bridesmaids. 

Olive Cottage has an upper level with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a lounge with fireplace, open-plan dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. On the lower ground floor, there’s a self-contained studio flat with an open-plan kitchenette, en-suite shower and bath and an undercover patio with a built-in braai. 

The open-plan Mountain Villa overlooks the mountains and vineyards and is luxurious and contemporary. It has five modern, beautifully decorated suites and can be booked exclusively for a family or group.

AWARDED BEST WEDDING VIEW AND RECEPTION VENUE
Bona Dea’s honours speak for themselves. The estate was awarded Best Reception Venue in 2015 and Best Wedding View in 2017 at the TopVendor Wedding Awards.

If you want to be sure, though, Bona Dea’s events team will take you and your entourage on a guided tour of the estate, while they familiarise themselves with your ideas, tastes and needs. The estate offers a wide range of services on site, such as furniture and décor hire.

Viewings are by appointment only to ensure individual attention: Monday to Friday, 8am– 5pm and Saturday 8am–1pm.
