Some Sundays concert series is back

Picnic + listen to Mango Groove, Francois van Coke and others

There are few things as enjoyable as live music on an easy Sunday. Now throw in a picnic, good wine and some of South Africa’s top artists and you have the perfect recipe for ending your weekend in Lionel Richie fashion. Some Sundays is back for its second third, so here is everything you need to know about this boutique concert series.

LOCAL IS LEKKER WITH THIS LINE-UP

The picnic series has five great concerts lined up for the months of October to December. You can jam to Mango Groove, Francois van Coke, Early B, Will Linley, PHFat (to name just a few). The artists will be performing new songs, old classics (for the 90s kids) and there’s even a one-of-a-kind dance duo from Pretoria.

MAKE A WHOLE DAY OF IT 

The concert series is hosted at Nooitgedacht Estate outside Stellenbosch. There’ll be a De Grendel wine tent, cold craft beer, a fully stocked bar and food trucks galore – you can order wood-fired pizza, Mexican cuisine and more. The event starts at 12pm, the music at 2pm and the headline act is on stage at 4pm. Gates will close at 7pm.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

• Buy your tickets early in advance to secure your spot.
• Kids younger than 5 years may enter without a ticket.
• There is plenty of on-site parking (but best to uber if you are planning on drinking).
• Bring a picnic blanket or chair, as well as some sunblock for the day.
• No food or alcohol may be brought to the event.
• The concert is not pet-friendly, so leave your doggos at home.
