Friday Night DJ and Dancing at HQ Restaurant
#AfterDark with DJ Rene: start the weekend with a steak dinner, stylish cocktails and suave tunes by The Frenchman
Headquarters restaurant’s stylish HQ bar is pushing back the furniture and upping the tempo with DJ René ‘The Frenchman’ Tanguy and friends every Friday night in Cape Town.
The saucy Heritage Square steakhouse invites diners to let their hair down at its weekly #AfterDark party and beckons to those looking for a lounge-style vibe, colourful cocktails, boutique-brewed craft beer or a heady Cuban.
For starters, the Parisian-inspired bar and its top-notch mixologists lay claim to a remastered list (2015) of old classics and wilder, wilier concoctions. In line with the cocktail craze that’s gripped Cape Town, locals can look forward to eccentric creations, like the Unmarried Japanese Woman (SKYY Citrus Vodka, Christmas cake liqueur, cranberry syrup and fresh lime) and the Biltong Smoked Mary (Cherry-wood smoked Smirnoff Vodka, tomato juice, spice mix and biltong shavings ).
What’s more, if you don’t want to tuck into the one-hit wonder of a menu as pre-party dinner (only sirloin, chips and salad is on offer), rather pair your tipple with the new selection of tasty bar snacks. The bits and bobs on the go are relatively substantial – think butternut & sage wantons, chicken skewers, salmon parcels, spicy chorizo balls, crispy calamari, and much more – and 100% as delicious as the eatery’s signature main meal.
Then, get set for DJ René to usher in the weekend with house and swing music, live instrumentation and cameos by his ‘A-team’.
In short, the handsome cosmopolitan venue is THE place to party in Cape Town if you’re looking for a swanky, New York-style middleground between a restaurant and a club. With racy, red leather seating, balloon-style lighting and exposed brick walls, HQ flaunts a sexy urban elegance and holds fast to its status as one of the city’s hottest date night spots and steamiest late night bars.
So, if you’re looking to get down, come dance the night away at this swish city centre steakhouse.
Do note: there is no cover charge for the performance, but booking is essential if you want to sit down for dinner. Reservations can be made by calling +27 (0)21 424 6373.
