We are here to help you make note of the important musical shows in the city so make a note on your calendar of these three so long - you won’t want to miss out on any of these fabulously entertaining performances so get a booking as soon as you can!

Tiger Bay the Musical
Tiger Bay the Musical is a musical production presented by The Wales Millennium Centre in collaboration with Cape Town Opera. The riveting performance will run for only eight shows at the Artscape Opera House starting on Saturday, 20 May 2017 and taking the last curtain call on Saturday, 27 May 2017.

Tiger Bay the Musical is a story set in Cardiff, Wales at the turn of the last century with the action of the story taking place at the docklands of an impoverished area named Tiger Bay. The powerful story will introduce the audience to a multitude of characters; from the Marquis of Bute, believed to be the world’s wealthiest man at the time, to a recently exiled Zulu prince, coming to Tiger Bay for answers and revenge.

The multifaceted narrative also plays on contemporary social themes and fuses them with historical context and relatable characters. Tiger Bay is a universal story of courage, reconciliation and love. With Olivier- and Tony-award nominated director Melly Still leading an outstanding British creative team, this short run will be a rare opportunity to be the first to see a major new international musical.

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER
An R.Wagner production in the Naspers Grand Masters series this spectacular new show showcases the myth of a cursed sea captain and his ghostly ship which comes home to the Cape of Good Hope. Presented for only four shows on 17, 19, 23, and 26 August 2017, you’ll need to make this a priority to your to-do list in August!

Director Tim Murray takes the audience on a journey through the widely entertaining strains of Wagner's elemental score, whilst Matthew Wild unleashes the ghosts of Dutch colonialism in the modern city through his new production.

The highly-acclaimed Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid stars as Senta, while the talented South African baritone Jaco Venter returns from Wagnerian triumphs in Germany to make his role debut as the Dutchman.

The Magic Flute
The Magic Flute brings the audience a young cast of outstanding singers from Cape Town Opera and the University of Cape Town Opera School to welcome summer back to the Mother City with Mozart's most joyful and uplifting masterpiece. The Magic Flute will be in Cape Town for six shows on 23 and 25 November 2017 and 5, 7, 9, 10 December 2017.

The enchanting blend of visual elegance and whimsical comedy gives a fresh take on Mozart's fable about the intense power of music. The story reveals that Tamino and Pamina are protected by the magic of their enchanted flute which leads them to discover that music can be the only power to lead them.
