Tickets for kids from R10! And you can bring your own food
The Barnyard Theatre is heating up this winter with its latest music tribute show: Battle of the Sexes. From Wednesday, 4 June to Sunday, 20 July 2014, rock dudes and divas will participate in a he-sang, she-sang tug-o-war featuring much-loved pop icons and songs from as far back as the 60s to present day.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE BARNYARD THEATRE’S BATTLE OF THE SEXES MUSIC TRIBUTE SHOW
A rock ‘n’ roll show down, the tribute music performance and its 11-piece cast attempt to determine whether women or men make better entertainers. With legends like Cyndi Lauper, Janet Jackson and Cher battling it out against the boys from Def Leppard and superstars such as Prince, Billy Ocean and more, this revue promises to not only put this age-old argument to rest, but also be one helluva night out!
Covering everything from the ultimate wedding playlist to work-week woes, the routine features tunes like ‘Going to the Chapel’, ‘Natural Woman’, ‘Drives Me Crazy’, ‘Manic Monday’, ‘Nine to Five’ and many more.
Attendees can look forward to seeing stand-offs between icons like Annie Lennox, Madonna and Tina Turner going tune-for-tune against legends like Elton John, Bon Jovi and Freddie Mercury. Not to mention, some of the 21st century’s finest singers including Lady Gaga and Pink take on male crooners Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke.
Afterward, guests can look forward to renditions of power ballads from the likes of Kings of Leon and Adele before moving onto a more energetic performances of ‘Party Rock’, ‘Addicted To Love’, ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ and ‘Let's Get Rocked’!
At the end of the day this Battle of the Sexes is moot, and the only clear winner here is the audience who all get to enjoy an unadulterated night of fun chock-full of killer tunes!
