The FNB Whisky Live Festival Cape Town

Showcasing over 180 local and internationally established whisky brands at the CTICC!

The FNB Whisky Live Festival has a reputation as the largest, liveliest and most exciting whisky tasting lifestyle show of its kind in Africa, and this October, it once more, makes its way through South Africa, starting in Cape Town.

Taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from Wednesday, 3 October until Friday, 5 October 2012, the much-anticipated annual expo will be the place to go to sample established local, international premium lifestyle whisky products, as well as new whiskies launched in the South African market. 

Lauded by critics for making whisky ‘exciting, fun, sexy and youthful’, the festival is as ideal for novices beginning to delve into the finer things in life as it is for seasoned connoisseurs who haven’t gone a day without a dram in years. Not only will attendees have the opportunity to flit (or stumble) from whisky stall to whisky stall in the grand Tasting Hall, but there will also be workshops outlining the history of the age-old drink as well as educating whisky lovers on differences in make and type; the one-hour tutorials may even present the chance to taste whiskies yet to be available in SA. Furthermore, festival-goers can join in or make up a party at the canapé and whisky pairing zone, the blending zone, the aroma zone and the distillation zone.

All in all, the organisers promise that the 2012 Whisky Live will offer something for everyone, with the only perquisite for attendance being that you are over 18.

TICKETS FOR 2012 WHISKY LIVE CAPE TOWN
Tickets are available through Webtickets at R185p/p for Wednesday and Thursday and R195p/p for the Friday event. Tickets are not available to persons under the age of 18.

Tickets Include:
Tickets include entry into the Tasting Hall; 12 whisky tasting vouchers; a whisky tasting glass; a copy of the SA Whisky Handbook 2013; a bottle of Valpré water; a R15 discount voucher - redeemable at the Picardi Rebel on-site retail shop on any purchase of malt whisky to the value of R350 or more; and a R10 food voucher, redeemable at food delis within the Tasting Hall.

Group Bookings
Group bookings of 10 or more entitle purchasers to a discounted price of R148p/p for Wednesday and Thursday and R156p/p for the Friday event.

Two and Three day passes
A two-day pass will cost R310p/p and a three-day pass will cost R465p/p

The “Designated Dave” ticket
A designated driver ticket costs R90p/p and gives you entry into the Tasting Hall; a R30 food voucher, redeemable at the Tasting Hall food delis; a bottle of Valpré water; and gives your friends peace of mind. Please note, as designated driver, you will not be entitled to the tasting glass/handbook/coupons.

The whisky lifestyle Lounge package
 - at R640p/p, includes:

• Entrance to the FNB Whisky Live Festival 
• Exclusive access to the Whisky Lifestyle Lounge
• Exclusive access to the Boutique Whisky Bar Tasting Room - 5 tasting per night offering a range of whiskies not available in the Tasting Hall

There will be mini-workshops in a new tasting room within the Whisky Lifestyle Lounge.  This will offer 5 20-minute tasting experiences each evening, led by various whisky experts.  The tasting room is available to Whisky Lifestyle Lounge guests on a first come first serve basis.  Subject to availability, general festival-goers will be able to attend on a complimentary basis.  Limited to 30 per class

The Connoisseurs Experience (for the well-oiled veteran)
- at R675p/p, the ultimate guided tour includes:

Tour 1: 6pm- 8pm
Tour 2: 8pm - 10pm 

A luxury point-to-point chauffeur drive, courtesy of Hertz Chauffeur Drive; chance to taste and savour unique and rare whiskies on a personal guided tour of six different distilleries hand-selected by the distiller; a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the whisky experts and share a quiet dram with them; a light dinner in the Whisky Lifestyle Lounge.

NB:

• Limited to 12 passengers per tour, and with only two tours per night, these tickets DO SELL OUT.
• TOUR 2 passengers please note that collection occurs at 6pm to allow time to enjoy the Tasting Hall and dinner in the Whisky Lifestyle Lounge prior to the 8pm Tour start. The Festival venue closes at 10pm.
• Chauffeur Drive limited to a 50-km radius from the CTICC.
