Chamber Music Festival in Stellenbosch
Have maestros serenade you with haunting, classical music in the picturesque Stellenbosch
The Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival is happening at Stellenbosch University from Friday, 6 July to Sunday, 15 July 2012 with various daily performances throughout the ten-day period.
The annual event, which pairs international artists with young South Africans in the Festival Symphony and the Festival Concert Orchestra, is not only an opportunity for the community to appreciate the budding talent of local and foreign musicians, it’s also a chance for up-and-coming virtuosos to showcase their unique abilities. Additionally, the festival affords previously disadvantaged musicians the opportunity to work with the international best and to receive coaching and tutoring from a core of seasoned conductors.
This is no small venture with over 240 musicians, aged between 12 and 28, invited from all over the world to take part in the event.
Whether you’re a budding Mozart or simply a fan of the classical, this festival is sure to satiate your cultural cravings.
