For Guy Fawkes Day 2009, the City of Cape Town has announced special areas where fireworks can be let off, so if you want to witness some excellent fireworks displays (or organise some yourself!), make sure you’re at one of the following Guy Fawkes Day 2009 safe sites.

In honour of Guy Fawkes, the City has designated a number of sites where people may discharge shop bought fireworks. It is illegal to discharge them anywhere else without obtaining permission from the Chief Inspector of Explosives and the City.
