This popular venue, perched on top of a hill next to the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch, is the perfect place to relax and have a cold beer and a hearty burger while enjoying the view or watching the game with your mates.
The outside dining area offers patrons a breathtaking view of the grand mountains and bottle-green vineyards that make up the Stellenbosch Winelands.
Relax next to the fireplace with a glass of wine on cold winter evenings and make sure you don't miss out on the Black Bull's Happy Hour (every day between 5pm and 7pm).
The bar has its own VIP lounge (complete with a plasma screen TV) that can be transformed into a function venue on request.
The dance floor comes alive on weekends and live bands light up the stage on Wednesdays. The Black Bull's trivia nights on Thursdays are also proving to be extremely popular: Join in the fun and stand to win prizes from SAB and Pilsner.
The Black Bull also hosts various big events during the year. Popular previous events include a beach party, where the Black Bull was transformed into a seaside wonderland (with girls frolicking in bikinis and eight tons of sand being brought in).
The bar has quite a few exciting developments planned for 2007. These include a large local open-air music festival in February, and the construction of an outside tented area, outfitted with a pizza oven and braai facilities.
So, next time you're in the Cape Winelands and looking to have some fun, pop in at the Black Bull Bar and Restaurant at the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch.
Molo says: "Read more about the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch and the hotel's Aristata restaurant. Find other things to do in the Cape Winelands and subscribe to our newsletter for more Winelands news and events".
