On Saturday, 8 April 2017, Benguela on Main is hosting yet another charming evening time event. This time their shindig is focused on opera, and they sure have a sophisticated night in store for you!

A Night at the Opera will start with a welcome drink, followed by a magical performance by Shaza Greeff. This very talented singer has been delighting audiences all around Cape Town for many years and her voice pairs perfectly with the gourmet experience that Benguela on Main is offering for this very special event.

They specialise in gourmet culinary experiences and their wine pairings are a thing of legend. The executive chef at Benguela on Main, Jean Delport, places special emphasis on the reconceptualising of older dishes using fresh and locally grown fare. His flavour combinations leave a smile on your face and the expert sommeliers at Benguela will pair his delicious food with some truly sensational wines.

The menu for A Night at the Opera features five courses, each one more innovative and delicious than the last.

Black Squid - Seabass, prawns and asparagus
Carrot and Scallop - Soft herbs, tortellini and vermouth
Cured Warthog - Celeriac, quail’s yolk and juniper ash
Free Range Beef - Mustard, kale and Jorgensen’s Gin
Salted Pineapple, Celery and Fennel Lolly
Maca Root Mousse - Liquorice, purple fig and white chocolate
