PADI Scuba Diving Courses with Into The Blue Scuba Dive Centre

From beginner to PADI advanced level, learn to scuba dive with Cape Town scuba diving specialists

Into The Blue Scuba Dive Centre offers a wide range of scuba diving courses to meet the scuba needs and diving desires of anyone looking to enter, or further enhance their abilities, in the subaquatic sport. No matter whether you’re a diving-novice seeking to explore the serenity of swimming beyond the Cape’s notorious shoreline, an expert in the scuba biz keen to further enhance your diving skillset or a old-timer looking to rediscover the aquatic hobby and the big blue; whatever your cause, Into The Blue has a scuba diving course for you.

Passionate about the deep-sea and what they do, Into The Blue’s friendly staff prides itself on professional and approachable service, seeking to encourage others to fall in love – again and again – with the ocean and all its unique underwater wonders. With a key focus on quality, safety, customer interaction and commitment – the Cape Town scuba diving company is after all internationally recognised as a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) 5-star IDC centre and in 2016 was awarded Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence – Into The Blue strives to provide a hands-on, fun and comfortable experience for all clients.

In affiliation with internationally recognised Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), Into The Blue’s scuba diving courses are all PADI approved and range from beginner ‘Discover Scuba’ to professional ‘Divemaster’ and ‘Instructors’ courses as well as offer a number of first-aid and speciality courses. With approximately 80% of all recreational divers across the globe certified with PADI, no matter where you go, your PADI certification will be recognised allowing you to dive and explore any ocean reef and seabed worldwide.

Typically, with some exceptions depending on the prescribed course, most Into The Blue scuba diving courses comprise a theory level (which can be completed online or in Into The Blue’s classroom and commonly encompasses a DVD, various assignments, quizzes and an exam), a pool session in Into The Blue’s on-site swimming pool (to teach or refresh divers how to use the scuba gear) as well as a few exciting, and proudly Capetonian, ocean dives.

By choosing to complete a PADI course, divers are assured of a thorough and well-planned course – from the theory to the actual scuba diving experience – that is fun and exciting while adhering to the safety regulations and specialised practices of PADI. What’s more, with a maximum of five divers to one dive master in the water, every diver will receive ample support and help throughout their training process.

Ideal for individuals looking to learn more about scuba diving, Into The Blue’s Discover Scuba is a great place to start. Designed as an introduction to scuba diving, this one day course offers beginners the experience of diving in the form of two options; ‘scuba diving in the pool’ (a short briefing followed by experiencing the scuba gear in comfort of the swimming pool) and ‘scuba diving in the ocean’ (a short briefing followed by learning to use the scuba equipment in the pool before entering the sea and exploring three shipwrecks approximately five metres deep). No prior diving experience or certification is needed.

For those who know they want to learn how to dive, Into the Blue offers a beginner Open Water course that teaches trainees the fundamentals of scuba diving and sets the foundation for all the other scuba diving courses. This three to four day course allows graduates to scuba dive independently with a certified partner to a depth of up to 18 metres. The course begins with an informative DVD and theory background before moving to the pool to be taught how to use the scuba gear and learn all the necessary diving skills. Once divers are comfortable, they will progress into the ocean, diving at some of the Cape’s most spectacular dive sites including shipwrecks and kelp forests. What’s more, your diving course can be constructed and tailored to suit you and your schedule and doesn’t need to be completed in four consecutive days.

Once divers have completed their Open Water course, the rest of Into The Blue’s courses act as a ladder moving divers higher up the ranks with every other PADI-certified course they complete. After the Open Water course Into The Blue offers an Advanced Open Water course (which allows divers to dive up to 30m deep), a Rescue course (which teaches divers to recognise stress symptoms and what to do in emergency situations) and a Refresher course (perfect for qualified divers who haven’t been in the water for a while) as well as many other speciality courses enabling divers to dive deeper, penetrate shipwrecks, underwater photography as well as dive at night. Over and above, there is also a variety of Non-diving First Aid courses, Professional scuba courses as well Career Development courses on offer.

Ultimately, Cape Town’s cool Atlantic water is a diver’s paradise filled with many underwater wonderments and natural sea-treasures waiting to be discovered and explored. And the passionate team at Into The Blue is here to help teach you how. In fact, with its unique kelp forests, diverse marine life including cow sharks and Cape fur seals as well as over 800 shipwrecks littered across the seafloor, why wouldn’t you want learn to dive at one of the most beautiful and varied coastlines in the world?

Scuba Diving Gear Rental and Sales: Into The Blue Scuba Dive Centre stocks a wide selection of top quality scuba gear and accessories available for sale and rental. In addition, should a diver have some gear that needs servicing, the Sea Point diving company can service any scuba gear – contact Into The Blue for more information.
