Sea Point’s unique boutiques

A one-stop suburb for Cape Town’s fashion forward

Cape Town has entered an age where trend-setters are steeling themselves away from large malls in search of small, one-off stores. If fashion is all about stepping out in something different, then Sea Point’s unique boutiques are a fabulous place to start.

Catwalk
Catwalk clothing stocks fashion labels from Dubai and Malaysia, as well as men’s shirts from South African designer, Gavin Rajah. You’ll also find an onsite beauty salon. The leopard print dress we saw in the window wouldn’t look amiss on one of Cape Town’s models.

Ladies Fashion
It doesn’t look much from the outside, but this has to be one of my favourite boutiques. Rails upon rails of Asian kimono-style wraps, floral Chinese dresses and bright colours are original and wearable.

Imagine
This boutique certainly fuels the imagination with antique, full-length mirrors, gypsy lanterns and calming colours. Plus size ladies shouldn’t have to compromise when it comes to fashion, so a range of comfortable daywear is designed to make women feel even more beautiful.

Gabriele
Beverley Edelstein, who has owned Gabriele for 30 years, caters for everyone, whether you’re 12 or 100-years-old. We’re talking soft, flowing, and comfortable tops, dresses and accessories. The boudoir’s interior boasts gold, black velvet and mirrored units.

Mari And Me
Their elegant interior was inspired by a silver wallpaper designed by Ralph Lauren, which has a vintage motif. Mari Kushner’s boutique is all about exclusive, yet comfortable and affordable clothing inspired by international trends.

The store suits everyone from eight-year-olds in search of a necklace to 70-year-olds with a penchant for scarves.

The walls are adorned with jewellery made with lead-free, hypoallergenic metal, including ankle chains and necklaces. Everything is for sale here from dresses designed in Durban to pottery and babies’ toys.
