Despite the commercialism of the day, there quite possibly isn’t a woman alive who wouldn’t go weak at the knees at being treated to a romantic dinner, especially if the setting is elegant and beer, shooters and bowls filled with peanuts and raisins are off the table.
With its elegant interiors and candlelit scenic views, The Atlantic Grill Restaurant at the Table Bay Hotel is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner in Cape Town. Executive Chef, Dallas Orr has planned an aphrodisiac-inspired menu especially for Valentine’s Day, which is sure to raise the pulse of even the most faint-hearted romantic.
This isn’t a night to rush her home for the highlights on SuperSport. No, this is a night to indulge her senses. The starter course is a warm consommé of cherry tomato with goats cheese crumble followed by queen scallop Panna Cotta with sunflower seed risotto. Next is handmade duck ravioli with tomato and brown rosemary sauce.
There’s a delicious summer berry sorbet with raspberry pearls and champagne to cleanse the palate before the main course of lightly peppered fillet of sole, pancetta wrapped asparagus, and lemon cream. Or, try the duo of spring lamb loin and terrine with truffle cauliflower puree and carrot chutney. Delicious!
Pastry Chef Keegan Mcleod has planned a lovers' lane of desserts featuring a duo of dark and milk chocolate marquise served with caramel foam and Madeira macerated fresh fig, friandises, chocolate truffles and heart shaped Turkish delight.
Cost: R350 per person. To make a reservation see the details below.
