The smash-hit production, The Epicene Butcher, first hit the stage in 2012 and saw Jemma Kahn in the lead role. This one woman play shot Kahn into the acting world, and she then toured the world, fresh off her success.
From Monday, 5 to Saturday, 10 December 2016, We Didn’t Come to Hell for the Croissants takes over Alexander Bar Theatre and transforms it into a playground for sinners. The organisers have been very clear - do not bring your children. This near the knuckle production is the perfect remedy to the end of the year blues, or even the mid-week hump.
This production features seven stories written by seven writers focusing on the seven deadly sins. We are not sure what is in store but expect plenty of wrath, sloth, gluttony, lust, envy, greed and pride. The two stars taking the stage for We Didn’t Come to Hell for the Croissants are Jemma Kahn and Roberto Pombo. The plays were written by Louis Viljoen, Tertius Kapp, Rosa Lyster, Nicholas Spagnoletti, Lebogang Mogashoa and Justin Oswold.
