30 years of democracy, 10 ways to celebrate
Bringing a bit of Española to the our pretty, Flamenco Del Sur will combine pulsating guitar rhythms and intricate Latin dance moves to keep audiences spellbound when Viva Flamenca spins onto the stage at the Garden Court Theatre from Thursday, 16 to Sunday, 19 July 2015.
The wildly popular Spanish dance genre has taken the world by storm and originated from the Andalusian region. The toe-tapping music and dance genre are characterised by hypnotic tempos played by a flamenco guitaritst while performers strut their stuff along the stage. The organisers have got some big names on board, including flamenco guitarist Demi Fernandez and percussionist Bryan Stone, along withdancer Linda Vargas and guest artist Ramon Fernandez.
Find your inner flamenco flair and have a blast with friends and family at this cultural whirlwind of an event. If you’re more into music than dance, you may also want to check out the cheeky Shiza Ikapa dinner theatre show, which celebrates Capetonian tunes and characters.
