Treat yourself to good music and great food at this Klein Karoo-based affair

Red Hot Events invites you to spend a weekend in the Klein Karoo where you can enjoy local musical talent and delicious meals. Get your tickets for the Unplugged62 Festival in Barrydale, which runs  from Friday, 7 October to Sunday, 9 October 2016.

Unplugged62 is a weekend-long party for the whole family to enjoy. This annual three-day festival held at the Joubert-Tradauw Vineyards is packed with amazing tunes as well as superb meals and wine that will have you in good spirits all weekend.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2016 UNPLUGGED62 FESTIVAL IN BARRYDALE

MUSIC: You can enjoy live music from South Africa’s brilliant musicians from 7pm on Friday, 7 October to 11am on Sunday, 9 October 2016. This year’s line-up includes Albert Frost, Majozi, Nomadic Orchestra, Manouche, Slow Jack, Hatchetman and Hezron Chetty, with DJ Dirtroad keeping the party going with epic hits from the ‘50s and beyond.

FOOD & WINE: It wouldn’t be a festival in the Western Cape without good food and wine. Included in the package is a Deli Alfresco Klein Karoo lunch on Saturday, 8 October from 3pm to 5pm. Enjoy a tasty, traditional Karoo meal (expect plenty of ostrich meat) paired with a glass of Unplugged 62 Sauvignon or Merlot. Joubert-Tradauw is also hosting a tasting area on the farm where guests can try local produce such as exquisite cheeses, biltong, baked goods and of course a range of their excellent wines.

CAMPING: The Joubert-Tradauw Vineyard has camping and ablution facilities on site so you can just pitch a tent and sleep over instead of looking for accommodation in the area. For those who don’t want to deal with the hassle of setting up camp, Cherry Glamping (that’s ‘glamour camping’) is offering luxury tents for R3500 that can hold two adults and kids. These lavish tents are equipped with beds, linen, towels rugs and solar lights, and Cherry Glamping takes care of setting everything up so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Tickets can be purchased from Unplugged62festival.co.za and weekend passes are priced at R375p/p for children and R750p/p for adults. Kids under 12 enter free.

Note: The R62 Deli run by award-winning chef Beate Joubert is offering catered meals to festival-goers. Meal tickets are priced at R90p/p for the Spitbraai (Friday), R 120p/p for the Van Loveren Champagne Breakfast (Saturday) and R80p/p for the Farmhouse Breakfast and can be purchased from Unplugged62festival.co.za.
